The French Riviera offers elegance, glamour and a taste sensation. The region is home to some of the most sought-after travel destinations and culinary experiences.

Why the french riviera should be on your list for 2023

The luxurious French Riviera is a place to indulge in all things exceptional. From the sun-kissed coastline to the clear blue waters, the French Riviera is brimming with history and culture. Perhaps this is why this European destination is a must-see in 2023. To give you a taste of what the French Riviera can offer, here’s a list of the most tranquil and picturesque places to visit.

Nice

Known as the birthplace of tourism on the French Riviera, luxury villas in Nice are the perfect base from which to explore everything this city has to offer. As well as stunning architecture such as the St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral and a wealth of museums like the Musée Matisse, Nice boasts the 7km paved Promenade des Anglais, known as ‘The Prom’ to locals. Stretching along the beautiful coast, it’s the perfect location to take in the panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea while enjoying any number of bars and restaurants by the beach. From one of our luxury villa rentals, you can step back in history and explore Le Suquet, the oldest part of the city. Here you can wander around the ruins of a former Roman settlement, as well as marvel at Medieval buildings like the Musée de la Castre and the church of Notre-Dame d’Espérance. Or perhaps you’d prefer to grab a coffee and a pain au chocolat and take in the breathtaking architecture from the Renaissance period.

St. Tropez

A favourite location of 1950’s icon Brigette Bardot, St Tropez has blossomed from a humble fishing village to the ultimate playground for the rich and famous. The picturesque Vieux Port is the perfect vantage point to see small fishing boats moored alongside luxury yachts. Around the harbour is a huge variety of cafés, restaurants and bars, but if you want to try your hand at Provençal fare, head to the Place aux Herbes and Halle aux Poissons. Here you can pick up fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and other local produce that you can prepare and enjoy in one of our luxury villas. History and art fans will also be able to explore some exceptional sites, like the Musée d’Histoire Maritime and the Musée de l’Annonciade, with its stunning collection of Impressionist and Neo-Impressionist paintings.

Cannes

Home of the legendary film festival since 1946, Cannes is the ideal location for our French Riviera villas. With the perfect blend of stylish boutiques, historical sites and stunning sea views, Cannes really has something for everyone. Enjoy a spot of shopping on the bustling Rue D’Antibes before strolling along the mile-long seafront boulevard La Croisette, taking in the crisp sea views. And should you wish to take a break from the busy street, head for the La Croix-des-Gardes, a 200-acre forest reserve where you can immerse yourself in nature.

Sainte-Maxime & Monaco

You may not have heard of Sainte-Maxime, but if you’re staying in one of our luxury villas in the French Rivieria, it’s well worth a visit. Increasingly popular with families, Sainte-Maxime has some amazing restaurants and bars but still retains its local traditions, with several festivals hosted throughout the year. Thanks to its sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, Sainte-Maxime is a water-sports enthusiast’s dream, with water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing and snorkelling all on offer. Monaco may be the second smallest country in the world, but it packs a punch as a stunning luxury travel destination. Synonymous with fast cars, luxury yachts and casinos, Monaco offers everything from history and architecture to restaurants and bars.
Top tip: Head to the iconic cocktail bar Le Bar Américain, a favourite haunt of James Bond. And if you’re a Formula 1 fan, Monaco is the place to be for the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix, which takes place in May every year. Just make sure to book your visit early, as our luxury villa rentals in and around Monaco tend to get snapped up very quickly.
